Sustainability
Industrial insurance limited liability company's sustainability work
Industria Försäkringsaktiebolag’s sustainability strategy is based on a comprehensive materiality analysis carried out in the spring of 2022. This analysis has identified the most relevant aspects of sustainability for the company and the areas where the company has the greatest opportunity to influence. The analysis clarifies our prioritized efforts in relation to climate impact and other significant sustainability factors.
In collaboration with Position Green, we use their established platform to systematize and ensure high quality in our sustainability reporting. The platform enables increased traceability and effective follow-up over time. Our sustainability report is also based on the company’s governing documents, which include work environment, ethical guidelines and other sustainability-related areas.
Business-driven sustainability work with a focus on customer benefit
Our insurance business is characterized by transparency, clarity and responsible business practices. This means that we ensure fair insurance conditions, responsible distribution and marketing as well as an ethical claims settlement process. For us, sustainability is not just about doing the right thing – it is also a strategic issue that creates long-term value for our customers and contributes to sustainable social development.
Sustainability integrated throughout the value chain
Our sustainability work covers three key areas: environment, social responsibility and corporate governance. These principles are integrated into the entire operation with a focus on areas where we have the greatest opportunity to influence. We have a continuous dialogue with our stakeholders, including customers, employees, suppliers, investors, partners, authorities and industry and interest organisations.
Industria Försäkringsaktiebolag strives to conduct its operations in accordance with the UN Global Compact and comply with its ten principles of human rights, labor law, the environment and anti-corruption. Together with the UN’s global goals for sustainable development, our Code of Conduct and internal guidelines and policies, these principles form the basis of our sustainability work.
Priority areas of sustainability
The company focuses particularly on four key areas, identified through the materiality analysis and in consultation with our stakeholders:
–Responsible non-life insurance
–Environment
–Employees, diversity and equality
–Social responsibility
By prioritizing these areas, we strive to maximize the positive value our business creates for customers, partners, employees, owners and society at large. At the same time, we work proactively to minimize business-related risks through robust processes, regulatory compliance and high business ethics.
Respect for human rights
Industria insurance joint-stock companies operate in a market with extensive regulatory requirements that ensure compliance with human rights. As our operations are concentrated in the Nordic region, where the legislation is based on European and international conventions, our exposure to risks linked to human rights is assessed as low. Our primary opportunity to influence lies in conducting responsible insurance, protecting customer integrity and getting involved in social issues.
Since 2022, we have been an official participant in the UN Global Compact. Our internal guidelines, including our Code of Conduct, clarify our stance on issues such as anti-discrimination, working conditions, forced labor, child labor, political involvement, freedom of association and the right to collective agreements.
Industria Försäkringsaktiebolag sees sustainability as a central part of our business strategy and we work actively to contribute to a more responsible and sustainable insurance industry.
